Green Roofs in Greece - The current state and future trends 

This half-day day conference in Athens will address basic green roof issues (planning criteria and standards) as well as new trends and innovations. A special focus is on the local experiences with regard to the climate, plant selection and political support. The seminar intends to attract architects, landscape architects, planners, local authorities, manufacturers and installers. 03.12.2009: Copenhagen Climate Exchange Exhibition

The Copenhagen Climate Exchange will be a forum for cities, NGOs and innovative enterprises from across the World. We want to share ideas on how to reduce CO2 emissions, improve ecological conditions and favour sustainable energy and show the leaders of the World at COP15 that it is possible.

25.05.2009: International Green Roof Congress 2009

- Three Days of Lectures, Workshops, Presentations and Excursions -

Under the patronage of the German Federal Minister of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs, Wolfgang Tiefensee, the International Green Roof Association (IGRA) and the German Roof Gardener Association (DDV) are organising the 2nd International Green Roof Congress in Stuttgart/Nuertingen from 25 – 27 May 2009.

The latest technological developments from the last few years stand as one of the focal points of the discussions and lectures. Other key topics include spectacular green roof projects designed by renowned architecture firms and the international guidelines and standards relating to green roofs. Practical workshops and excursions to local green roof projects in and around Stuttgart and Freiburg will build upon the lecture series.

17.09.2008: World Green Roof Congress

Livingroofs in partnership with CIRIA, EFB and IGRA are pleased to announce the 2008 World Green Roof Congress, to be held in London on the 17-18th September. This is the first event of it kind to showcase Green Roofs in the UK.

Conference: The two day conference will discuss the challenges and opportunities faced when implementing Green Roofs. It will focus on the contribution that Green Roofs can make to sustainable urban regeneration, climate change adaptation, sustainable stormwater management as well as improvements to local biodiversity and quality of life within cities. The conference will highlight latest innovations and research to support the effective promotion and delivery of Green Roof solutions as well as demonstrating examples of good practice from the UK and overseas.

Field trips: Local field trips will be organised to demonstrate what has already been achieved in and around London. This provides an opportunity to see how Green Roofs contribute to sustainable development and green buildings.

The 45th World Congress of the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) will cover the theme Transforming with Water in full width, breadth and depth. Each of the three days has its own central theme to focus the activities of the day. The program offers a mix of keynote speeches, lectures, debates, excursions, workshops, master classes, an interactive forum, and social events.
